What Is DHA DataFlow and Primary Source Verification (PSV)?
DHA DataFlow refers to the Primary Source Verification (PSV) process used in the DHA professional licensing pathway. PSV verifies licensing-related documents directly with the original issuing sources to help confirm that submitted credentials are authentic.
For healthcare professionals pursuing DHA registration in Dubai, DataFlow is therefore more than a general certificate check: it is a credential-verification stage connected to the applicant’s professional licensing pathway. The exact documents that require verification can depend on the profession, applied title, qualifications, experience and the requirements applicable to the individual case.
Overseas Healthcare Consultant provides independent support with profile review, document preparation, DataFlow / PSV application coordination and the related DHA licensing journey for doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, radiographers, medical laboratory professionals and other allied healthcare professionals.
Applicants should also distinguish DataFlow verification from the DHA assessment. DHA’s current professional licensing pathway shows Primary Source Verification by DataFlow and a CBT assessment by Prometric, when required, as separate prerequisites. Where a CBT assessment is required, DHA currently permits applicants to complete DataFlow verification and the CBT assessment in parallel.
A completed PSV report does not by itself authorize a healthcare professional to practise in Dubai. DHA registration confirms that the professional fulfils the requirements for the applied position, while an employing DHA-licensed healthcare facility must activate the registration into a professional licence before practice can begin.

Whether you are starting a new DHA pathway, adding updated credentials or transferring an existing DataFlow report, the next step should be based on your actual Sheryan and verification status rather than a generic sequence.

We help applicants organize the required credentials, coordinate PSV and understand the next step in the DHA registration process; DHA and the authorized verification provider remain responsible for official decisions and verification outcomes.
Radiology & Allied
DHA DataFlow for Radiographers & Allied Healthcare Professionals

DHA DataFlow for Radiographers

DHA DataFlow for Allied Healthcare
Overseas Healthcare Consultant provides DHA DataFlow / PSV guidance for radiographers and other allied healthcare professionals. Because DHA licensing requirements vary by category, title and specialty, applicants should first identify the appropriate professional title and then verify the credentials required for that pathway. We support document review, PSV application coordination, report follow-up and guidance on linking the verification result with the DHA registration journey. Completing DataFlow does not by itself authorize professional practice in Dubai; an eligible applicant must complete the applicable DHA registration requirements and the registration must ultimately be activated into a professional licence by a hiring healthcare facility.

Before You Start DHA DataFlow: Pre-Submission Check
Before arranging a new verification or transfer, confirm the DHA professional title you intend to pursue and review the credentials relevant to that pathway. A careful pre-submission check can reduce avoidable corrections and help identify whether an existing PSV report may be usable.
- Confirm the intended DHA category, title and specialty before relying on a generic document checklist.
- Check name consistency across passport, qualifications, professional registration and experience records, and prepare supporting evidence where names differ.
- Review qualification, registration/licence and experience details for consistency in dates, institution names and professional titles.
- Check issuing-source details so the relevant university, employer, council or licensing body can be approached for verification.
- Identify existing PSV reports that may be eligible for transfer rather than automatically starting the same verification again.
- Prepare legal translations where applicable for documents not issued in Arabic or English, together with the original-language document.
Documents Commonly Relevant to the DHA DataFlow / PSV Process
What does DHA DataFlow / PSV verify? Primary Source Verification is used to verify credentials submitted for professional licensing directly with their original issuing sources. The exact credentials that require verification depend on the applicant’s DHA category, title, specialty and registration pathway.
Documents commonly relevant to eligibility and PSV can include:
- Valid passport and a recent passport-size photograph for the DHA application.
- Educational qualifications relevant to the professional title, such as diploma, bachelor’s, master’s or specialty qualifications.
- Experience certificates where experience is required for the applied title.
- Professional licence or registration documents from the applicable authority or council.
- Good Standing Certificate where required.
- Additional records requested for a specific pathway. For example, DHA lists a logbook for surgical specialties in its registration eligibility requirements, while its FAQ states that the surgical logbook itself is not required to be verified by DataFlow.
Applicants should not treat this as a universal mandatory checklist for every profession. DHA’s credentialing requirements are profile-specific, and documents not in Arabic or English must be legally translated in addition to uploading the original-language copies.
New DHA DataFlow vs Existing PSV Report Transfer
| Situation | What it generally means | What to check next |
|---|---|---|
| New PSV / DataFlow case | Applicable credentials need Primary Source Verification for the DHA pathway. | Confirm the professional title and credentials requiring verification before submission. |
| Existing DataFlow report from another authority | The report may be recognized through the applicable transfer process. | Check whether the verified credentials appear in Sheryan and whether DHA requests additional or updated verification. |
| Existing report with updated credentials | Previously verified records do not automatically cover every later qualification, licence or experience update. | Identify which new or changed credential requires an additional verification case. |
| Verified documents not visible in Sheryan | The existing verification may need to be transferred/linked through the applicable DataFlow route. | Review the Verifications and CBT Assessments area and the applicable transfer process. |
Multi-Country Gulf Medical Regulatory Comparison Matrix
To help candidates make informed career decisions, OHC provides this comparative analysis of licensing across the six GCC healthcare regulatory jurisdictions:
| Jurisdiction & Authority | Primary Testing Partner | Verification Body | Min. Experience Required | UAE Inter-Emirate Transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai (DHA) | Prometric (Computer-Based) | DataFlow Group | 2 Years Clinical Practice | 100% Transferable to DOH / MOH |
| Abu Dhabi (DOH / HAAD) | Pearson VUE (Computer-Based) | DataFlow Group | 2 Years Clinical Practice | 100% Transferable to DHA / MOH |
| UAE Northern Emirates (MOHAP) | Prometric (Computer-Based) | DataFlow Group | 2 Years Clinical Practice | 100% Transferable to DHA / DOH |
| Saudi Arabia (SCFHS) | Prometric (Mumaris Plus) | DataFlow Group | 2 Years Post-Registration | DataFlow report transferable |
| Qatar (QCHP / DHP) | Prometric (Computer-Based) | DataFlow Group | 2 Years Clinical Practice | DataFlow report transferable |
| Oman (OMSB) | Prometric (Computer-Based) | DataFlow Group | 2 to 3 Years Clinical Practice | DataFlow report transferable |
DHA DataFlow Process: Step by Step
- Identify the correct DHA professional title. Start with the profession, qualification, specialty and intended position.
- Map the relevant credentials. Determine which qualifications, registrations, experience records and other applicable documents require verification.
- Prepare and submit the PSV case. Use accurate document and issuing-source information.
- Issuing sources are contacted for verification. Universities, employers, councils or other issuing bodies may need to confirm submitted credentials.
- Respond to additional-information requests promptly. Delays can occur when further documents or clarification are required.
- Review the verification result and Sheryan status. Existing reports may require transfer/linking, while updated credentials may require additional verification.
- Continue the applicable DHA licensing pathway. Complete CBT or other assessment requirements where applicable, registration and subsequent facility licence activation.
How Long Does DHA DataFlow Take?
DHA’s current English FAQ states approximately 15 working days from payment for a new PSV / DataFlow report and approximately 5 working days from payment for an existing report transfer. Applicants should treat these as indicative authority-published timeframes rather than guarantees: DHA’s current Arabic FAQ lists a different new-report timeframe, and actual completion can also depend on responses from universities, employers, licensing bodies or other issuing sources, as well as requests for additional or updated verification.
Can You Take the DHA Exam Before DataFlow Is Completed?
Where a Computer Based Testing (CBT) assessment is required for the applied professional position, DHA currently states that DataFlow verification and the CBT assessment may be completed in parallel. A completed positive PSV result for the required documents is still part of the registration pathway. Assessment requirements vary by professional position.
Existing DataFlow reports: DHA states that PSV reports do not have a fixed validity period; new or updated credentials can be added and previously verified documents may need re-verification if the underlying information changes. Reports issued for other authorities may also be transferable to DHA, subject to the applicable transfer process, fees and any additional verification DHA requests.
Common DHA DataFlow Delays & What to Check
Processing can take longer when an issuing source is difficult to reach, submitted information is inconsistent, an additional document is requested or an updated credential requires further verification. Applicants should review the specific case status rather than assuming every delay has the same cause.
- Issuing source not responding: confirm that the institution or employer details supplied for verification are accurate and monitor the case for requests.
- Name or date mismatch: check the passport and credential records and provide supporting documentation where legitimately required.
- Additional document requested: follow the applicable DataFlow case process for the document requested by DHA’s credentialing team.
- Existing verification missing in Sheryan: check whether the applicable report-transfer/linking process is required.
- Updated qualification, licence or experience: determine whether the new or changed credential requires additional verification.
What Happens After DHA DataFlow?
A positive PSV result is an important licensing prerequisite, but it is not itself a DHA professional licence. The applicant must complete the other requirements applicable to the intended professional position, including a CBT or other assessment where required, and complete DHA registration. An employing DHA-licensed healthcare facility subsequently activates an eligible active registration into a professional licence before practice begins.
Questions About DHA DataFlow & Licensing (Frequently Asked Questions)
Click on any question below to inspect detailed regulatory guidance, verification timelines, and expert advice from OHC:
1. What is the scope of DHA DataFlow Primary Source Verification?
DHA DataFlow refers to the Primary Source Verification (PSV) process administered by the DataFlow Group on behalf of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). PSV verifies your educational degrees, medical/nursing council registrations, and hospital employment records directly with the original issuing institutions worldwide to confirm absolute authenticity.
2. Is DHA DataFlow the same as the DHA Prometric exam?
No. DataFlow is the background credential verification prerequisite. The DHA assessment is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) administered globally by Prometric to evaluate clinical competence. DHA permits candidates to initiate DataFlow verification and sit for the Prometric exam concurrently (in parallel).
3. Can I transfer an existing DataFlow report from Saudi (SCFHS) or Abu Dhabi (HAAD) to DHA?
Yes. DataFlow reports issued for other GCC health authorities (such as SCFHS, DoH/HAAD, MOH, QCHP, or OMSB) can be transferred to DHA via the DataFlow True-Copy transfer service. OHC coordinates this transfer so your verified credentials reflect directly in your DHA Sheryan portal without paying for duplicate verification.
4. What are the passing marks for the DHA Prometric examination?
The standard passing benchmark for General Practitioners (GPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), Assistant Nurses (ANs), Pharmacists, and Allied Health Professionals is 60%. Specialist and Consultant medical examinations require 65% to 70%. There is zero negative marking.
5. How many exam attempts does DHA allow?
DHA permits a maximum of three (3) examination attempts per candidate across the entire UAE healthcare licensing system. If a candidate fails three times, they must complete approved clinical training before a fourth attempt petition can be considered.
6. Does internship count towards the mandatory 2 years of clinical experience?
No. Under the Unified PQR guidelines, the compulsory 12-month rotating internship completed as part of an MBBS, BDS, or nursing degree cannot be counted towards the mandatory 2 years of post-graduation clinical work experience. Clinical experience calculation begins strictly after full permanent registration with your statutory council.
7. Can diploma nurses (GNM) qualify for a Registered Nurse (RN) license in Dubai?
No. A Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) qualifies the applicant for the title of Assistant Nurse (AN). To obtain the title of Registered Nurse (RN), DHA mandates a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) or Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing degree accompanied by 2 years of continuous secondary or tertiary hospital experience.
8. What happens if my college or previous hospital has permanently closed?
If an issuing healthcare facility or educational institution is permanently closed or unresponsive, DataFlow initially issues an ‘Unable to Verify’ notice. Overseas Healthcare Consultant helps candidates overcome this hurdle by submitting official government gazette closure records, Ministry of Health / Directorate of Medical Education liquidation documents, and obtaining statutory registry verification to complete PSV requirements legitimately.
9. How long is a DHA Eligibility Letter valid?
Once you pass the exam and your DataFlow PSV report is approved, DHA issues an official Eligibility Letter valid for 1 year (renewable). This letter proves to prospective Dubai healthcare employers that you are pre-approved for practice and can be immediately hired and licensed.
10. What is the validity period of a Certificate of Good Standing (CGS)?
A Certificate of Good Standing (CGS) issued by your state medical council, nursing council, or dental council is valid for strictly six (6) months from its date of issuance. If your licensing journey exceeds 6 months due to verification delays or study schedules, a fresh, updated CGS must be procured before final license issuance.
11. What is the DataFlow Express / Fast-Track option?
DataFlow Express / Fast-Track reduces verification turnaround from the standard 20-25 working days down to 7 to 14 working days. Healthcare professionals with urgent Dubai employment offers are strongly advised to utilize Fast-Track processing through OHC to accelerate clinical onboarding.
12. Does a DHA DataFlow report ever expire?
No. A verified positive DataFlow report does not expire. It is permanently stored on the DataFlow international registry. However, if you acquire new qualifications, licenses, or subsequent hospital tenures, those individual new documents must be verified via an additional verification case.
13. Can I transfer my DHA license to Abu Dhabi (DOH) or MOH?
Yes. Under the UAE Unified Licensure agreement, practitioners who hold an active DHA license and complete 6 months of clinical practice in Dubai can transfer their license to Abu Dhabi (DOH) or the Northern Emirates (MOH) without retaking any licensing examination.
14. Can an Indian B.Pharm graduate qualify as a Clinical Pharmacist in Dubai?
No. A Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree qualifies the candidate for the title of Community / Retail Pharmacist. To obtain the title of Clinical Pharmacist, DHA mandates a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or a Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm in Clinical Pharmacy) along with 2 years of hospital clinical pharmacy experience.
15. Does OHC assist healthcare professionals with placement in Dubai?
Yes. Overseas Healthcare Consultant maintains active recruitment channels with prominent private hospitals, polyclinics, and diagnostic centers across Dubai. Once your DHA Eligibility Letter is secured, our recruitment team assists you with CV submission, interview scheduling, and employment onboarding.
